Baldwin Street - Jaffa Race

Baldwin Street, Dunedin is the steepest street in the world, and recently every year during the Cadbury Chocolate festival, Baldwin Street has been the venue for the great giant jaffa race. Thirty thousand individually numbered jaffas are let loose from the top of the street.

Below: a guest appearance from the Cadbury drumming gorilla, I don't know what happened to Cookie Bear these days.. and some weirdly dressed guy in stilts?

So the ford at the head of the hill, after a delayed countdown.. below, animated sequence of the release.

Below, just behind me, was Marie, who's ticket claimed the third prize. She was pretty stoked as her family was having a reunion of all but one sister.
