blackhead overhead

And extra one from St clair today on the top right.
Around 2pm this avo ... pulled up in the carpark with massive double overhead set coming through, peeling off purfectly to the left..

By the time I navigated the iced path, frozen sand and black iced rocks I got a few shots ...
then turning tide got the better of the banks.. and the majesty dissipated.

Not flat anymore! St Clair

Seagulls in the lineup.

Above and below.. St Clair this avo.
I love the shot below with the seaweed drawing up inside the wave... nice bottom turn too.

Got heaps more, as I hung around for a fair bit of the avo, might upload them another day when I havent got anything to put up. Also went over to blackhead before lunch where it was absolutely pumping, got some shots from that I'll put up later tonight maybe.

Two shots above were St Kilda at about 1.30 this avo before did a few things in town, then below two from St Clair at 3.30ish after I put the art up on the 'walls', not many walls at the cafe though. Pic of Cafe below left :0)

And then Blackhead real quick on the way to dropping the girls to their nanas for tea. Sun was just disappearing with 6 out, and some fun waves coming through.

lazy day and DVD's

Later in the avo a cruise down the south coast a bit and caught a few treat shots on the beach by myself. Two DVD's for dinner, The Cave, which was stupid, bloody alpha male american crap and a weird white trash movie.
St Clair for lunch for my time out weekend. Just a wee 4 pic montage along with a couple of the gyrocopter that buzzed me out by coming so close to the esplanade and then skimmed off towards Lawyers licking the peaks on the way.

Surf Art and the Science of Surf Exhibition

Above artwork by local Dunedin surfer Steev Peroux
At the Cleveland Living Arts Centre at the Railway Station Dunedin.
This is the last exhibition that will be held at the Cleveland Centre, it will then be taken over the the Otago Art Society. I was privileged to have assisted in curating and hanging this exhibition.

So.. whatever you do over the next month, be sure to go and check out the totally amazing surf artwork, photography, old school surfboards and other awesome surf memorabilia on display.

An hour in the chiller

Totally hectic week. The opening of the Science of Surf and Art exhibtion at the cleveland last...Yay I sold a painting already!! My time out this avo was mindlessly standing on the esplanade taking photos for an hour, and it was bliss.

These pics were taken between 1.30 and 2.30 I think.

Stok'd @ St Clair

I couldn't leave.. just St Clair purfection today before and around lunchtime, but I was reluctantly dragged away with another committment - so please someone let me know how the avo was.

Tash Civil was carving up the inside for hours while her brother Jamie was out the point with Pete Malone nailing barrels and taking on some heavy sets.

Tomorrow I will load another 8 photos from today. But for now heres just one more ... Hayden Parsons, weaving his body board magic.
