Out at St Clair around before lunch today.. looked okay with some steady sets coming through when I got there, but after 20 mins inconsistency prevailed, and I left for home with what I thought were no good shots because the light was very dull and grey. As it turned out when I downloaded them I was right, no good shots :0) but here are a few anyway, I had a fiddle with one set.

Dont think iv ever seen a poo stance quite like the one in that top right hahaha, that arty shot is really nice tho nic, nice little right hander :)
yeah the long boarders were pulling out the poo stance today...
too many regrets about todays surf, too many waves i should have gone for, but didn't judge them right, ah well, guess all good for the fitness
that shot of the 'poo stance' wasnt quite that tho guys... it was more of a hucker down and get some speed to get thru the section, he actually never poo stanced again. (not that it was one) .. yeah good for the fitness, you're lucky you guys have the fitness to get out there :0)
Thanks Nic, I'm pretty sure that's me in the photo, hard to tell except for the hoodie round the neck instead of over my head - which is how I was wearing it. If it is me I remember that wave, I kinda just pulled in and saw the lip starting to throw up in front of me, so I 'huckered down' (as you put it - much better than poo stance!!) and struck my arm in the wall to try and bring myself under the lip but unfortunately didn't quite make it and proceeded to take a good rumbling and the rest of the set on the head. Still, that half second of going "Sh*t I could make this!!!" and getting that surge of adrenaline makes you just wanna charge back out do it all again! Love your work by the way, keep it up!!!! :o)
Yea...we will let you off it this time mate ;-)
Hi spuddog, can't have the reputation clouded by a frozen moment in time! Its always my desire to catch the essence of each session through my photography, but sometimes its a difficult job when you can only present a fraction of a moment from that whole. Not all is represented.. but I guess thats the challenge. catch you again out there :0)
Yea, you can definitely get the wrong impression with a photo sometimes.
I like the mood of the sepia one, it makes it look so glassy and it captures the feel of the day (to me at least).
I thought Sunday was actually pretty good, but I was down there later in the day.
Heya Beano, The sepia effect was the only way I could bring the essence of the day to justice.. good old digital darkroom :0). I did have a play with different settings on the camera while there, but just couldn't capture the amazing lighting, it was like the sky was steel grey, and the sea was too, but the waves rising from the surface had a deeper magical softness .. it was all very still.
The goofy footer is '98 National champ Chris Malone
thanks for that :0) nice wetty too.
