St Clair Walls

Bit of a lost day today.. managed to muck around doing everything but nothing in the end till 3pm, and then took a drive to Middlemarch to check out a car same as mine for daughter.. advertised as warranted and registered, in great condition inside and out, a sweet runner etc, got there, it had no warrant, needed a list of things for it.. ding on the drivers door, messy inside, and ran like a sack of broken eggs. Aren't people nice.

Yep that someone in the barrel there above.. anyway got back at 5pm and caught some shots of massive lines moving in to St Clair about 6 out the back riding the 6-8 foot larger sets, and three on the reforms inside. Was cold, very windy and overcast. Just a few pics from that sesh..

5 New Surf Artworks at Classic cafe

This morning I removed the previous hanging at the Classic cafe at the Hot Salt Water Pool, and replaced with 5 brand new artworks!!

Pics of each here, if you are keen to see them in the flesh.. pop in for a great coffe, and good food and see up close, as pics of paintings always look flat viewed on the internet.
Also work is well underway with cleaning the pool and surronds out ready for the season opening labour Weekend.

lost in photobucket ... a retro of the last week

So here are the shots I missed loading up from the last week or so, from a south coast ladder comp:::

COMPUTER UPDATE .. on Friday I finally got my refund for the acer.. and I am now awaiting the completion of my new custom machine from PROSOUTH. they have to wait a week for a part I orderd for it, so hopefully by the end of the week I will have my dream machine all set to go !! In the mean time I have been diving into some painting again. A few projects of views through cabbage trees, one finished and one almst complete.. and also a new series of abstract Surf Art which is kind of exciting for me, because I love abstract stuff, rich bold colours in earthy tones with gold accents and solid block colours too. One will be hung with the new lot of artworks at the Classic cafe this week.

Four hours this avo at Blackhead, as the swell picked up markedly, also the wind picked up, and chopped up the faces, but still some massive sets peeled through...

A clip that was missed from the three surfers vid, added with a few more pics from the day.
Also great to see some swell moving in, although pretty messy, at least St Clair and Kilda doesn't look like a lake anymore!!

the other 6 .. which is now 11..

It took a bit, but I got them done, there's actually quite a bit of work involved in preparing each image for upload, file has to be converted from a raw '.orf' file to an uncompressed .tiff, and then opened again in photoshop to do a slight tweak in levels and sometimes a sharp filter.. image is then resaved then cropped to a 6x4 ratio with an adjustment to 800 pixels wide, then I apply the date, converge the layers.. and then save the image for the web which compresses the image so its small enough to upload without taking too long to load on your browser, 'saving for web' takes out about 50% of the colours and chops the resolution down from 300 DPI to 72 DPI .. most images that end up on here can actually be blown up to (when printed as a photo) to at least a 16x20 inch print and up to a 20x32 inch print..
so anyway here's the rest plus another 5 from Blackhead the 2nd of October 2006.
