Hi Nic, great work! Thanks for sharing the process, too. I was wondering if you could help me? I plan to visit Dunedin April 1-3. Could you suggest a hotel within walking distance of a good surf break? I am trying to avoid renting a car, but if the breaks are spread out, maybe I should. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

or cheaper option http://www.tahunabeachholidaypark.co.nz/ ten mins walk to beach st kilda, and you could walk to st clair

The hosts are surfers, and do a homestay with surf tour packages, awesome hosts, great atmosphere, local surf knowledge. to surf, you'd need to take the surf tour package or have your own car as they are a good drive from the city breaks.
