Shooting straight into the sun is a challenge, but the results can be emotive and artful.
With the shifting light of late evening in Dunedin, other angles gain different effects.

We stopped in Oamaru checked out the surf shop, and got an invite upstairs for a skate.

Wekastitch Cape Classic - part 2

More pics from the Wekastitch cape Classic over labour weekend. I got hundreds so if you want me to send some thumbs of you let me know.

Back from Pipe

Got to Kilda about 4, and there were 4 out.. looked good, but strong winds. The sun was dancing in and out of the clouds, so some of the duller shots I converted to Sepia and black and white. I took the pulled back approach for most of the shots today as the spray from the waves was playing havoc with the focus.

After about an hour of shooting, a flood of surfers arrived and the crowd swelled to about 30 spread along 3 peaks.





I got heaps of shots, I haven't the time to put them all up here so I might make a second post in a few weeks.

Wekastitch Cape Classic - part 1

The first comp on the South Island circuit this year was held over two days.. the 25th and 26th of October 2008 at Tauranga Bay, Westport, hosted by Buller Boardriders.

Virus gone - FIN found

had a battle the last few days with some virus got on the internet computer, and then we lost the internet.
All fixed now. Will post sojme shots from Westport later this arvo.

An undamaged FCS Fin was found washed up on the beach at St Kilda last night. I have it here, if you can identify it, email me, and I'll get it back to you.
