in a matter of 6 weeks

So this is what happens with a north east swell over a period of weeks.. the sand is coming back.. here are two photos taken approx 6 weeks apart.
the rocky one on the 6th of December, and one just yesterday on the 18th of january.
Both at the absolute lowest tide of the day.

Thats quite incredible really. Here we were all lamenting the new wall as the cause of the missing sand. And now the sand is back. Apparently the ebb and flow of the sand at different times of the year is the normal pattern in keeping with typical swell direction for the different seasons. Your photos seem to clearly support this.

Yeh a big part of the problem is all the big rocks they dragged in to line the wall by the pool. its interrupted the original flow of the channel which has resulted in more sand (than before) being washed from the beach in S and SW swells. FG

We need a good few years when the wetaher patterns rturn to more frequent E swell than we have seen the last 2 years. If it is 7 year cycles then we are due for a return to normal E action 07/08 because I think 01/02 was the last year when there was a lot of E swell. The 15m of reclamation in the corner near the pool hasn't helped - that reflected angled backwash strips sand faster.
