Pics at last! --- Blackhead

Been a long time since I have been able to get pics processed and uploaded for the blog, there has also been alot of other stuff happening in my life which has put me out of action for the last week or so. And now I have just sorted out a convoluted way to get some shots on the blog, my computer is still in the shop, been 6 weeks, and have now given an ultimatum, if I dont get a full refund by friday, its small claims court. Harvey Normans' customer service is abysmal.

So been flat as everywhere around Dunedin the last however many days its been, but Blackhead had some clean 2ft sets coming through.

Caitlin recovering

Yesterday I got a call at 11am from Caitlins school to say she has collapsed and the ambulance was on its way.. man what a totally freaky call to receive, I had no other info, so the next 5 mins the thoughts racing through my mind as to what had happened were ferocious, if you have kids and know what its like if it appears their life is threatened by anything its definitely scarey.
She left for school in the morning just fine. On the way to school walking with her best friend they had a 'spray lollie' from the local shop, a liquid in two flavours from China which was given to them by another friend. After 20 mins they both developed sore tummies and after and hour they were both feeling very sick with intense tummy pains, and thats when Caity collapsed. She was admitted after 6 hours in A&E after being put on a drip, morphine and observation. she was feeling better today, so they let her home, but the hospital are not willing to attribute the episode to the spray lolly, even though their other tests were inconclusive as to what it was.

If I can say anything about whats happened, it's educate your kids about the 'dangers' of all these new ranges of taste experience lollies out. what ever happened to them being satisfied with spearmint leaves, caramel chews, milk bottle lollies etc, thats all I had as a choice as a kid. Also that the local shop even stocks these new lollies with so many preservatives and dangerous ingrediants (like citric acid, asparatame) .. my thoughts are that the shop owners should at least have some kind of community responsibility to offer safe choices for their customers, rather than a few more dollars in the till at the end of the day.

A storm in a hard drive

Damn computers!!! ongoing saga of my acer computer which has been away being 'fixed' for the last three and a half weeks... its fixed, then its not, then it is, then its not.. after two hours at Harvey Normans today waiting to finally pick it up and take it home with my new Storm card installed in it ready to go .. it all goes to the dogs again.. and its going to be another three days at least till they sort out the latest hitch. WARNING DO NOT BUY AN ACER COMPUTER!! they suck, and the customer care/service by Acer is appalling. All this as I type away on my ACER laptop which seriously died after lending to a friend.. (don't loan computers to friends) it ends up costing an arm and a leg to fix their negligence.

meanwhile .. another of hayley. been getting a few of her lately :0)

So the above ramble typed at the tail end of my daughters Ambers' 17th birthday party, being held downstairs in the basement.
Do I sound negative? nah, just expressing how I feel about computers/technical stuff right now.. oh to leave it all and be in bliss with a 9-5 job cleaning toilets or something equally mindlesly numbing.

Blackhead Barrels

St Clair this morning before 8am.. it was 3foot and glassy as, apparantly, so of course it all changed when I got down there at 9am, but still looked fun.

This afternoon, after catchingup with housework, I went over to Blackhead, spent about an hour on the rocks, the light was bad, grey and overcast.. so the ISO was set high on my camera, but managed to get some tasty barrel shots after walking around the rocks.
