hibernation

Getting cold down here, and the surf has been less than desirable, been past St Clair and Kilda the last few days, I have taken some pics, but nobody out, and surf was abysmal anyway. Apparantly St Clair is closed due to high bacteria count in water.

I have been working on a few paintings the last few days, finally finished a few that have been hanging around, just listed on trademe click here.

Also I have four more that need varying degrees of finishing work before I am happy with them. I am good at starting them, but finishing them is an issue. Gotta work on that!

yep, you're right, top left painting is an adaptation of the double pit photo, I am finishing it off right now actually. Finished three paintings today, including the one on the right which is off Al Ashworth's photography(Slide Mag)! Apparantly catlins is looking good for this weekend.. Papatowai will be pumping.. but I am sure there will be some decent swell when you're down :0)

Hey SJ when r u comming down? We'll hook ya up on the right place to surf.
For all aspiring photogs out there, get yourself a jetski hook up or take a good lens and get on down the coast, I hear there's a plane load of chargers on their way! LOL I bet centre island will be sick as well, although ya need a boat with a die-hard skipper or a chopper for that trip!

arrive on the 17th but thats at like 9pm and only really have the 18th to surf, so if it aint looking good for anywhere on that day i wont bother lugging the board down. Hope it is decent tho, and not some stright southly wind hahah i am use to 18.5C water temps atm after all :)

I have to say, after my comments about die-hard skippers going to Centre Island this weekend it's been playing on my mind! For any friends and family who are going through the tragedy down south we feel for you all.
Mother Nature rules the roost, and I think every person who participates in water sports knows that. And I realise that doesn't make it easier, but Live each day to the fullest and be kind to each other, for your'll never know when you say see you later....

Hey SJ, call into the Esplande Bar or Quarry Beach Surfboards in Surrey St and i'm sure you and a board can be hooked up, along with somewhere to surf on Thursday. Why you only here for one day? Loooong way to come for 1 day?
